Mr. Curt Peterson is the President / Owner of Deterministic Systems, Inc. and is the Senior Electrical Control Systems Engineer. As a graduate of the University of Illinois with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1981, Curt has provided electrical control systems for the Entertainment Industry for 23 years and for the major theme park rides throughout the world. His clients include Six Flags, Disneyland, Lego land, Universal Studios (Florida and Japan), Bush Gardens and the Stratosphere and MGM Grand rides in Las Vegas, Nevada.


  • Safety Systems – critical motion control design, complete programming and implementation of 60+ major amusement rides according to IEC61508, EN954.
  • Control Systems Design – complete integrated systems design including power distribution, computer architectures, IO networks, drive systems, and operations interfaces for Amusement Rides, Jail Security Systems, and Manufacturing Machinery of many types.
  • Real-time Programming – deterministic control of dynamic control systems using redundant PLCs and SBCs configured in series (Rides) and parallel (Jails).
